Catering management software for Qatar caterers: from the order to the last tray

A caterer in Qatar can cook for a wedding of 600 on Thursday, a company iftar for 250 on Friday and a family majlis on Saturday, often with the same small team and two vans. Orders change by phone and WhatsApp until the last day. This page covers what catering management software has to do for a Qatar caterer, what to check in a demo, and how Venura's catering app handles it.

Orders that change until the day before

Most catering orders in Qatar start as a message. The family or company asks for a menu, a price per head and a date, and then the guest count moves, a dish is swapped and a second delivery address appears. If each change lives only in a chat, the kitchen cooks from yesterday's version.

Catering software should keep one live order per event. Every change updates the quotation, the kitchen sheet and the delivery plan at once, and the client gets a fresh PDF. Keep a record of each version so you can show what was agreed if the final bill is questioned.

Iftar and suhoor orders run on a different clock

During Ramadan many companies and families order iftars and suhoors, often for several evenings. Delivery has to land before sunset, which moves earlier or later through the month, and the window is tight. A late van means a cold buffet.

Plan these as separate events with their own delivery times rather than one long order. That way each evening has its own kitchen sheet, driver and receipt, and a cancelled night does not throw out the rest of the bill.

Suhoor orders are smaller and later, sometimes after midnight, and they often come from the same companies and families who booked an iftar. Keep them on the same client record so you can see the full Ramadan spend and offer a package next year. Staffing is the hard part: the team that served iftar at six may be needed again at one in the morning, so check the rota before you accept the order.

Price the month as a whole when you can. A company that books twenty iftars should see one clear quotation with the dates, numbers and price per evening, and an invoice that matches it, rather than twenty separate messages.

What to test in a demo before choosing catering software in Qatar

TestWhy it matters
Change the guest count and swap a dish two days before the eventThe quote, kitchen sheet and delivery plan should all update from one change.
Price one menu with per-guest, per-tray and per-station itemsQatar menus mix units. Software that only prices per head forces workarounds.
Create five iftar evenings for one client with different delivery timesEach evening needs its own sheet and receipt, and one cancellation should not upset the rest.
Add a client purchase order number to the invoiceCorporate clients will not pay an invoice without it.
Record a deposit and settle the balance on the day by card or cashCheck that each payment has its own receipt and the balance is right.
Share the kitchen sheet and the delivery list with staff on their phonesDrivers and chefs work from their phones. See the sheet on Android and iOS before you buy.

Invoices in QAR with no VAT, and paperwork for companies

Qatar has no VAT, so your catering invoice shows the full price without a VAT line. Corporate clients still expect a formal quotation, their purchase order number on the invoice, and a receipt for each payment. Families often pay a deposit and settle the balance on the day.

A draft e-invoicing law was approved by the Council of Ministers in May 2026, but no rules or start dates for caterers are published yet. Keep your invoices in a system where adding a tax line or a new invoice field later is a setting, not a rebuild.

Staff, vans and the Thursday rush

Thursday night is when weddings stack up. The same caterer may send a buffet team to one hall, a tray delivery to a family home and a coffee service to a majlis, all within a few hours. Each needs people, a vehicle and a departure time that works with Doha traffic.

Put every event for the day on one screen with its delivery time, address and assigned staff. When a service captain is double booked, you want to see it on Tuesday, not when two families call on Thursday evening. Print or share the day's run sheet with drivers so loading starts in the right order.

After the event, record what came back: trays, chafing dishes and coffee pots. Missing equipment is a quiet cost that eats into the margin of a busy season.

Dietary notes and allergens on every order

Families and companies ask about nuts, gluten, seafood and dishes suitable for children or older guests. The note has to travel from the order to the kitchen sheet and to the service team, or it is useless.

Keep dietary notes as part of the order rather than in a separate message. Then the note prints on the kitchen sheet automatically, and the client can see in the quote that the request was taken. Check the rules that apply to your premises with the Qatari authorities that license your kitchen.

Knowing which events actually made money

A full calendar does not always mean a profitable month. Large weddings bring volume, but a small corporate lunch with a good margin can be worth more per hour of kitchen time. Without numbers per event you are guessing.

Look at revenue, deposits received and balances outstanding for each event and each month. Once you see which menus and which clients pay well and on time, you can price the next season with confidence instead of copying last year's list.

Do the same for staff hours. A wedding buffet that needs fourteen servers until midnight can earn less than a quiet company lunch, and only the numbers show it.

Where Venura fits for a Qatar caterer

Venura's catering app keeps orders, menus, quotations, invoices, receipts, kitchen sheets, staff and payments together for each event, in Qatari riyals. Documents are shared on WhatsApp or email from the order. It runs on the web, Android and iOS, with a free 30-day trial and pricing for Qatar on request.

It fits caterers who cook for events: weddings, majlis gatherings, corporate lunches and iftars. If most of your revenue is a restaurant dining room with a delivery app, a restaurant point of sale may suit you better. Venura does not connect to delivery apps or government invoicing systems. If you need Arabic on documents, ask to see it in the demo.

Catering software questions from Qatar

What does catering management software do for a caterer in Qatar?

It keeps each event's order, menu, quotation, invoice, payments, kitchen sheet and delivery plan in one record. When the client changes the guest count or a dish, every document updates, so the kitchen, drivers and client all work from the same version.

Do Qatar catering invoices need VAT?

No. Qatar has not introduced VAT, so catering invoices show the full price with no VAT line. Excise tax on sweetened drinks from 6 July 2026 is paid by importers and producers and reaches you through supplier prices, not as a line on your invoice.

Can I manage Ramadan iftar orders in Venura?

Yes. Create each evening as its own event with its own delivery time, kitchen sheet and receipt. That keeps a month of iftars for one company organised, and if one night is cancelled the rest of the bookings and payments are not affected.

Does Venura work on phones for my drivers and chefs?

Venura runs on the web and in apps for Android and iOS. Staff see the orders and sheets their role allows, so a driver can open the delivery list and a chef can open the kitchen sheet on site without asking the office for a forwarded file.

Does Venura connect to delivery apps or Qatar's e-invoicing plans?

No. Venura is built for event catering, not app delivery, and it does not connect to delivery platforms. Qatar's e-invoicing law is still a draft; if it becomes mandatory for you, you will need a solution that meets the published rules.

How much does Venura cost for a caterer in Qatar?

You can start with a free 30-day trial. Plans for Qatar are priced on request depending on your kitchens and users. Book a demo or message the team on WhatsApp and you will receive a quote in Qatari riyals for your setup.
