Privacy Policy

Who We Are

Venura is a venue and catering management app operated by Venura.

Contact: support@usevenura.com

Website: https://venura.org

This policy explains what we collect, why, who helps us run the service, and the choices you have. It applies to the Venura apps (Android, iOS, web and desktop) and to venura.org.

Information We Collect

Account details

  • Name, email address, phone number and business name
  • Business address, country, currency and time zone
  • How you sign in (email and password, Google or Apple)

Business information you enter

  • Venues and halls, bookings, inquiries, quotations and calendars
  • Catering data: menus, packages, dietary preferences (e.g. veg / non-veg), guest counts and event or delivery locations
  • Payments, receipts, deposits, expenses and invoices, including tax details you add (for example a GSTIN or VAT number)
  • Vendors you manage (caterers, decorators, DJs and others)
  • Branding assets you upload (logo, signature) and notes

Your clients' information (see "Your Clients' Information" below)

  • Names, phone numbers, event details and amounts you record for your clients

Team information

  • Name, email, phone number and role of teammates you add
  • An activity log of actions in your account (for example "booking added by …")

Subscription information

  • Your plan, start and renewal dates, and the purchase or transaction ID from Google Play or the App Store. We never receive your card or bank details for these purchases.

Device and usage information

  • Push notification token, app version, device model and operating system
  • In-app usage events we store ourselves, such as which setup steps you completed and which in-app announcements you saw or closed
  • Crash reports (see "Crash Reporting")

Financial Information

To help you track payments, we store:

  • Bank name / alias
  • Last 4 digits of the account number

For standard accounts we do NOT store full bank account numbers. This partial information is only for your reference to identify payment destinations and is not shared with third parties.

Accounts with invoicing enabled may optionally add full bank details (account number, IFSC code, branch) to print on their own tax invoices. This is stored at your discretion and only appears on documents you create.

Your Clients' Information

When you record a booking, inquiry or payment, you enter information about your own clients. You decide what to enter and are responsible for having the right to store it. We process it only to provide Venura to you, on your behalf.

We do not contact your clients ourselves and never use their details for marketing. Messages to your clients (for example a receipt or reminder on WhatsApp) are sent by you from your own WhatsApp or email app. When you share a receipt or quotation, we create a temporary link to the PDF, which is removed automatically after a limited time.

How We Use Your Information

  • Provide, maintain and secure the service (bookings, payments, receipts, invoices, team access)
  • Verify your account and keep it secure
  • Send notifications and reminders you rely on (bookings, payments, trial or plan ending)
  • Manage your subscription and verify store purchases
  • Provide support and respond to your messages
  • Understand how the product is used and improve it, using our own in-app usage events and crash reports
  • Send product updates and tips by email, which you can unsubscribe from at any time
  • Meet legal and tax obligations

Emails and Messages

We send emails through Zoho ZeptoMail (and Resend for some announcements):

  • Account emails: sign-in and verification, welcome, team invites, plan activation, and trial or plan ending reminders. These are part of the service and are sent while your account is active.
  • Product updates and tips: occasional emails about new features. Every one has an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time. These emails may record whether they were opened or a link was clicked, to tell us which updates are useful.

When you sign up, we may also send one welcome message to your phone number on WhatsApp through Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform. If you message our WhatsApp support, that conversation is handled on WhatsApp.

We stop emailing an address that bounces or reports our email as spam.

Push Notifications

With your permission, we send push notifications about your venue's activity, such as new bookings and payment reminders, and occasional in-app announcements about new features. You can turn notifications off in your device settings at any time.

Device Permissions

  • Notifications: to send the alerts described above (you are asked first)
  • Photos: only when you choose an image to upload, such as your logo or signature

We do not access your contacts, location, microphone or camera roll in the background.

Payments and Subscriptions

Paid plans bought in the app are processed by Google Play or the Apple App Store, under their terms and privacy policies. They handle your payment details; we only receive confirmation of the purchase (plan, dates and a transaction ID) to activate your plan, keep it renewed, and make sure one subscription is linked to one Venura account. You manage or cancel a store subscription in your Google Play or App Store account settings.

Crash Reporting

We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports and diagnostic data to improve app stability:

  • Crash logs and stack traces
  • Device model and OS version
  • App state at the time of the crash
  • An anonymous installation identifier

Crash reports are processed by Google, retained for 90 days, and do not include your account details or business data.

Data Sharing

We do NOT sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising. We share information only:

  • With the service providers listed below, only as needed to run Venura
  • With people you give access: teammates you add (according to the role you choose) and anyone you link your account with
  • With Google Play or the App Store, for purchases you make there
  • When required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the service
  • With your explicit consent

Third-Party Services

We use these providers to run Venura:

  • Google Firebase and Google Cloud: sign-in, database, file storage, server functions, push notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging) and crash reporting (Crashlytics)
  • Google Sign-In and Sign in with Apple: optional ways to sign in
  • Google Play Billing and Apple App Store: in-app subscriptions
  • Zoho ZeptoMail and Resend: sending email
  • Meta WhatsApp Business Platform: the welcome message and WhatsApp support
  • Vercel: hosting for venura.org and our web services
  • PostHog: analytics on the venura.org website only (not inside the app)

Each provider has its own privacy policy:

Website and Cookies

On venura.org we use cookies and PostHog analytics to understand how visitors use the website (pages viewed, buttons clicked, approximate location and device). The Venura app itself does not use PostHog or advertising trackers. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

External Links and Apps

Some features open other apps or websites:

  • WhatsApp: sending messages to your clients and contacting support
  • Email apps: sending inquiries
  • Web browser: viewing policies and external links
  • Google Play / App Store: managing subscriptions

Once you leave Venura, that app's or website's own privacy policy applies.

Where Your Data Is Stored

Your data is stored on Google Cloud (Firebase) servers, which may be located outside your country, including in the United States. Our providers process data under their own security and data-protection commitments.

Data Security

Data is encrypted in transit with TLS/SSL and stored on Google Cloud with encryption at rest. Access is restricted by security rules so that only you, and the people you give access to, can see your business data. Team access follows the role you assign. No method of storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.

Data Retention and Deletion

We keep your data while your account is active.

You can delete your account in the app (Account → Delete Account). Your account is suspended straight away and permanently deleted after 30 days, together with your business data, uploaded files, notifications and email records. You can also request deletion:

  1. Email support@usevenura.com with the subject "Delete My Account"
  2. Or visit https://venura.org/delete-account

We may keep a minimal record where needed for legal or tax reasons, and we keep a list of email addresses that bounced or reported spam so we never email them again. Crash reports are kept for 90 days.

Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live (including under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, the EU/UK GDPR and similar laws), you can:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Delete your account and data
  • Export your data
  • Unsubscribe from product-update and tips emails
  • Turn off push notifications
  • Withdraw consent you have given, or object to certain processing
  • Raise a complaint with your local data-protection authority

To use any of these rights, email support@usevenura.com.

Age Requirement

Venura is a business tool for people aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18.

Changes to This Policy

We update this policy when our app or services change. The date at the top shows the latest version. We will tell you about significant changes by email or in the app.
